My name is Deborah Deuro-Naughton. I was born Monica Varga Barany and was adopted as a baby. I have spent a great part of my life searching for my birth family and history. With the help of family, friends and strangers I have found much of what I have been searching for and am continuing my search for the remainder of information that is being kept from me.
This site includes my story, the history of my search, a televised documentary of my search, photographs of my found family, other media related to my search and a blog about searching and my experiences as I continue this journey to find the story of Monika.
My search took many paths and experiences. The “Story” tells of my search.
Route 56 is a Hungarian documentary about me and the search for my birthmother.
Filming took place in August 2006 in Budapest and in Niagara Falls. The filming of the documentary opened the door to finding my brother and sister.
Nok Lapja is a very popular magazine in Hungary. In the summer of 2003 I was interviewed for a feature article about my search. It was published in January 2004.
